About Ryan

Ryan Chavis is a video game product manager with 7 years of experience defining content strategy for large F2P titles and developing his own indie games.

Ryan graduated from Duke University in 2016 with a B.Sc. in Economics and spent 2 years as an investment banking analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In 2018, he decided to pursue his passion for technology and video games by joining Roblox Corporation where he served as a Business Operations Analyst and Data Scientist. Ryan used his knowledge of business strategy and data analysis to help the Roblox executive team grow the developer community and advised top Roblox games on how to improve KPIs with data-driven game design.

In February 2022, Ryan founded Balanced Games and began developing his own indie titles on the Roblox platform. Ryan led a team of 6 developers to create Pixel Miners, which released in July 2023 and achieved a peak concurrent user count of 2,500 players. His latest game, Turtles of Speed, has reached 250K DAUs and 3.5M+ plays.

In January 2025, Ryan joined Scopley as a Senior Product Manager and currently leads the development of the in-game economy for an upcoming F2P title.

Ryan is a proud member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and an active part of the indigenous community in Los Angeles. He enjoys volunteering as a land steward to support local habitat restoration efforts at the Chief Y’anna Learning Village in Monterey Hills.
